The Aichi Triennale, with its theme of "Arts and Cities", drew to a close today. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all participating artists who generously gave their time and effort, all visitors from Aichi prefecture, Japan and beyond, as well as all those who lent their support either directly or indirectly in order to make this event a success.
Although the number of visitors to the Triennale exceeded expectations by a wide margin, we were especially pleased to see a wide cross-section of people of all ages and generations, from kids to seniors, enjoying the high-spirited atmosphere unique to a large-scale art event such as this.
I hope the beauty and wonder of contemporary art leaves a lasting impression in your memory in anticipation of the next edition of the Aichi Triennale.
