Lecture Series:

This lecture series addresses the theme of “arts festivals” by taking a historical and critical look at Aichi and other arts festivals, as well as the fine and performing arts from multiple perspectives.Initiated in 2021, the series’ archive is now available on the official website.
Talks and discussion by artists, curators, and other specialists were held during the arts festival.

Art History Classes Taught by Artists

This lecture program offered an insight into the history of art from the perspective of internationally renowned artists.
In addition to deepening our understanding of individual artworks, we also discovered the connections between them, and developed our ability to read the history of art as a narrative viewed from a variety of perspectives.

Unraveling the Art Festivals: Modernization and the Expo, the Olympics, and Arts Festivals

The program offered a historical and critical look at art festivals by presenting an overview of large-scale international events, such as international expositions and the Olympics.
Across a series of lectures by specialists in various fields such as sociology, urbanism, and history, we considered the ideal form for an arts festival.

The program offered lectures from advanced and alternative art schools and learning program practitioners in Japan and abroad during the event to deepen understanding of learning through art.
