LEARNING
Research:
This research project on “Aichi,” home to the Triennale, will emphasize knowing where we are located in order to engage with the world’s diversity of expression.
Artists and participants chosen from the general public spent several months conducting multi-faceted research from historical, cultural, and sociological perspectives. The results were exhibited during the festival and further developed over a series of workshops and other activities.
Exploring Aichi and the Greater World
We offered a video series with Kataoka Mami, Artistic Director of Aichi Triennale 2022, learning about Aichi from various perspectives. In addition, starting in the fall of 2021, six teams of artists worked with participants chosen from the general public to conduct a research project in formats that suited each group’s concept, such as fieldwork or workshop.

Practices Interlinking Society, Art, and the Self
Starting in April 2022, this project targeted teens and young adults. Through multifaceted research on art, art festivals, and society, participants developed the necessary skills both to see and to communicate for themselves, and also organized and held events during the Triennale.
