LEARNING

Learning Room

The Learning Room served as the base for our Learning Programs, where we exhibited the results of “Exploring Aichi and the Greater World,” a program that began in October 2021 with six teams of artists engaging in activities together with participants recruited from the general public. In the Open Space at the end of the exhibition, we held various workshops and lectures.

Open Space

Workshops, lectures, and other events that grew out of the six projects on exhibit under the title, “Exploring Aichi and the Greater World,” as well as other events initiated by the six Learning Program artists and their research teams, were presented primarily on weekends, as “Art Tekiya* 2022.”
When not in use for programs, archived videos of lectures were shown in the space. It also served as a place for relaxation, like the Lounge 2.

Lounge 2

It is a place where anyone can “chill” at any time, located in the corridor near the Learning Room. The furniture is from the former Tokoname City Hall building.

Intermission Talk

Worksheets to realize “healthy dialogue” were provided across from the Open Space.

Concept

The program provided a place where visitors to Aichi Triennale 2022 can express their own thoughts on the festival experience, and can discover the thoughts and experiences of other visitors. This is open to anyone who thinks, “I want to share my experience,” or “I want to know what other people feel.”

We have devised some mechanisms for mutual sharing of ideas, and for encouraging communication. The process started with looking at various questions about the Aichi Triennale 2022 that visitors have written about their experiences. You can write your answers to these questions on a worksheet, or you can ask your own questions.

The questions and answers that arise in Intermission Talk were compiled for the duration of the Triennale, and were updated in real time to form a growing archive.

How to participate in Intermission Talk
  1. First read the Concept explanation.
  2. Look at the questions left by other visitors.
  3. Select one question.
  4. Paste the selected question on a worksheet and write your thoughts in the space provided.
  5. Put the completed worksheet in the “mailbox.”
  6. If participating in Intermission Talk piques your interest in particular art works, go to have another look at them.
