Xijing Men is a three-man artist group formed by Tsuyoshi Ozawa (Japan), Chen Shaoxiong (China) and Gimhongsok (South Korea). They founded the group in 2007 while showing their works individually at international exhibitions. As "inhabitants" of Xijing (meaning "western capital"), a virtual nation different from either Tokyo (the eastern capital), Beijing (the northern capital) or Nanjing (the southern capital), they have been exhibiting works that criticize social and political constructions such as nations and societies with their distinctive brand of humor and irony. For the Aichi Triennale 2010, they will unveil their remake of "Chapter 2: Here is Xijing / the journey to the west," a work they first showed in 2008.
